There are three losses to ivory plaques, one to the lower right corner of the right cover, measuring approximately 2 cm high; the other to the upper right corner of the left cover, measuring approximately 1 cm; the other to the lower left corner of the back, measuring approximately 1.4 cm high; and a number of cracks to ivory as might be expected.
Two finials missing from the lower parts of the corded hinges. The upper right finial is slightly bent. Some screws missing from the back and front of the icon. Wear to gilding throughout. Otherwise, general surface wear and scratching consistent with age and use.

There is craquelure to the icon overall. There is a small white stain above the head of St Elizabeth.

The case with three broken hinges. As the result the right cover is detached and the left cover loose at the top. The silk lining of the wood case is threadbare along the hinges. The lower wooden panel loose. The case inscribed ‘Platonoff’ and further indistinctly inscribed on the back.
