After the design by Alisa Golenkina, circular, painted en grisaille with the portrait of Maxim Gorky, the border inscribed in Russian 'Everything that is of value and reason was created by knowledge and labour', within black rims, marked under base with masked Imperial Porcelain factory mark, and a blue overglaze hammer, sickle and cog, and the date '1921.', also with blue overglaze artist's monogram Cyrillic 'AG' for Alisa Golenkina
