The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Étude de tête (Study of a Head):
The edges are slightly deckled with faint discolouration. Pinpoint foxing, creases and handling marks occasionally on the surface. Minor tears at the right upper right edge and lower edge. A horizontal fold mark across the centre of the sheet and diagonal fold marks to the upper right corner and lower left corner. Paper loss to the upper left corner and middle right edge. On the reverse, the condition is consistent with the aforementioned condition observed on the front and Cappellin's reference number is 264. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our opinion that the work is in overall good condition.

Étude de mains (Study of Hands):
The edges are slightly deckled with faint discolouration. Pinpoint foxing and creases occasionally on the surface. Diagonal fold marks to the lower left corner. On the reverse, the condition is consistent with the aforementioned condition observed on the front and Cappellin's seal and reference number 342. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our opinion that the work is in overall good condition.
