Lot Essay

Astronaut Edward H. White II, pilot for the Gemini-Titan 4 space flight, floats in the zero gravity of space outside the Gemini-4 spacecraft. Behind him is the brilliant blue of the earth and its white cloud cover. White wears a specially designed space suit, and the visor of his helmet is gold plated to protect him against the unfiltered rays of the sun (from the NASA MSC caption for the present photograph).
