The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall in very good condition, most specimens intact and many displaying fine detail, the matrix hollowed out from the open end of the large ammonite revealing further fossil specimens within. The two larger ammonites retain all of their spines although the tips of some have broken off and a few which have been repaired, the smallest spiny ammonite seemingly with three lost spines. There is evidence of repair (using adhesive) to some of the specimens and to parts of the matrix. Some matrix sections were seemingly removed and then replaced in order to achieve the striking undercarved effect and multiple layers of specimens.
