This complete stone was not cut in order to preserve its exceptional shape. p-XRF analyses and magnetic susceptibility measurement leave however no doubt about its belonging to the L chondrite group. L chondrites, like the other ordinary chondrites belong to the inner system group of meteorites and therefore share some kinship with the planets of the inner Solar system. Their oxidation state and isotopic compositions suggest their formation in the asteroid belts between Mars and Jupiter.
