The carniverous Theropod dinosaur was top of the food chain in the Kimmeridgian (late Jurassic). Evidence suggests it may have reached nearly 40ft in length and hunted in packs. First discovered in 1877 by Othniel Charles Marsh, they were smaller but very similar in appearnce to their later relatives of the Cretaceous Tyrannosaurus.
