The Annabel Lee Mine in southern Illinois, one of the two mines in the Harris Creek Mining Sub-District alongside the neighboring Denton Mine, produced remarkable fluorite specimens in a variety of colors over a short period from late 1984 to 1995. Of all the colored fluorites to come out of Annabel Lee, saturated yellows like this specimen were the rarest. While predominantly yellow, there is a beautiful outer zone of light blue that serves to make the yellow pop even more.
