Lot Essay

The large number of bones in each fin would have granted the Ichthyosaur exceptional dexterity and turning power in the water, in contrast to its bulky and inflexible head. Ichthyosaurs during the Jurassic era are thought to have been streamlined with tail propulsion, similar to the modern dolphin.
