Lot Essay
The nearest living relative of the Oreodonts is the Camel, but their appearance is thought to be more similar to a pig, living in large herds that roamed across most of North America. The present skull is wonderfully preserved, with the pits in front of the orbits intact, and excellent dentition. Post Lot Text Lot offered without reserve which will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the pre-sale estimate in the catalogue. This lot has been imported from outside the EU for sale and placed under the Temporary Admission regime. Import VAT is payable at 5% on the hammer price. VAT at 20% will be added to the buyer’s premium but will not be shown separately on our invoice.
