From the Permian (circa 299-251 million years ago), the near-complete Claudiosaurus germaini specimen in excellent state of preservation within its original limestone slab, displaying full ribcage, limbs, and curved tail.

Lot Essay

Of particular note are the rows of finely preserveed teeth within the reptilian skull in profile. The Claudiosaurus is classified as a diapsid rather than a dinosaur, as evidenced by the distinctive shaping of the skull. In life the specimen's splayed feet would have been webbed, allowing for better traversal through its swampy environment.
