Lot Essay

The Apatosaurus is among the largest and most beloved of the herbivorous titans of the Jurassic era. They are close in size and shape to the Diplodocus, with a long outward neck and thick legs to support a heaving torso. The leg and vertebrae bones of the Apatosaurus are typically stronger in comparison. The present specimen would likely have been close to the pelvis of an Apatosaurus, supporting the heaviest part of the dinosaur. This behemoth would have lived off abundant vegetation including horsetail ferns and tree leaves.
