Starting in the late 1960's, the Erupción (Ahumada) Mine in the Los Lamentos Mountains of Mexico produced high-quality wulfenite specimens. Highly-distinctive, the Los Lamentos wulfenites look more like candies than wulfenites, with their lighter opaque layers confining glassy, deep orange interiors. Since the mine's closure, wulfenite has become a rarity on the market.
