In the Renaissance taste, the square plinth with vari-color enameled scrolling foliage and topped by four dolphins mounted with gems and spaced by enamel flowerheads, the dolphin tails joining in the center to form a knopped stem set with carved intaglios, and supporting the spherical rock crystal cup, the cover mounted with additional carnelian intaglios and with jester finial, apparently unmarked
