Ovoid, raised on three paw feet headed by acanthus, the lower body engraved with stiff leaves and berries, the mid-band with griffins, palmettes, and scrolling acanthus, with bird head spout and wooden loop handle, the hinged cover with palmette border and engraved with stiff leaves and berries, and with baluster-form finial, marked on underside of cover with Paris fineness mark and provincial guarantee used 1798-1809 and with maker's mark, marked on rim with provincial fineness mark and provincial guarantee marks used 1819-1838, and marked on underside of body with Paris fineness mark used 1798-1809
