The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with some minor scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use, the hound on the finial with left front leg seemingly previously off, but re-attached, the cover slightly loose, though secure, with a tiny split to the front of the cover, just above the rim, the shield held by the lion thumbpiece likely with removed engraving, but cleanly done, some minor bruises to the chased lobes to the cover and to the lower body, wobbles slightly on a flat surface, possibly lacking a decoration to the ends of the balls at the handle terminal, the parcel-gilding largely worn, some wear to the chased decoration at the high points, presents well, generally good condition.
