The pieces overall with some minor scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use, as noted all with composite faces, heads, and hands, where applicable, with some minor scratches and surface dirt to the composite material, some with some glue reside from attaching, a few with heads and hands slightly loose, though secure, a few with heads able to be removed, the castles with some very minor bends to the crenellations, the bishops with some minor bends to the ribbons to the back of their mitres, one bishop with his left hand broken and lacking his prayer book, the kings both with some minor bends to their crowns, one lacking the thumb to his right hand making his grip on his shield not fully secure, shield can fall out though can be propped in place, the silver pawns with some bends to their pikes, a few with pikes loose, but secured, one with the top of his pike off, but retained, the board with some fading to the wood as well as some minor wear and rubbing to the gilt-metal, the associated table also with some minor wear and rubbing to the ormolu, the agate urn with some minor scratches, natural veining, and 'nibbling' to the edges, the board not attached to the table, able to be removed and set elsewhere for play, the top of the table slightly smaller than the space to the underside of the board, overall generally good condition.
