The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been glue relined. Overall with minor surface soiling. With minor frame abrasion at the corners and lower edge. With a repaired abrasion to the hat under the table. Examined under ultraviolet light. With scattered restoration and touchups, including to the sitters' faces. The seated man at left with further touchups to his proper right hand and coat. With touchups to the standing woman behind him at her chest. A restoration along a horizontal line running the width of the canvas along the chests of the seated figures.
