Lot Essay

Depiction of a baseball player in uniforms as proposed for a New Mexico baseball team. The artist clearly reflected the Mexican heritage in the color and design of the uniforms including red sash tied around the waistline. Marked in lower margin, possibly by the artist's hand: "ca.1926" & "JS 1795," not examined out of frame nor under backlight, some staining and graphite transfer to paper, some areas of pencil eraser visible, some minor yellowing to paper: EX
