A charming book of hours from Northern France, with two miniatures supplied from another manuscript.

195 x 135mm. 101 leaves + 2 supplied miniatures before Hours of the Cross and Lauds of the Virgin, 14 lines, ruled space: 91 x 79mm, rubrics in red, illuminated initials and line-fillers throughout, 9 larger initials accompanied by partial borders (some soiling and staining, especially first few leaves). French 19th-century red calf with blindstamped lozenge and gilt spine (edge wear).

Content: Calendar ff.1-12v; Hours of the Cross ff. 13-16v; Hours of the Virgin (Matins, Lauds, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline) ff. 17-60v; Penitential Psalms and Litany ff. 61-78v; Office of the Dead ff. 78-101.

The subjects of the two supplied miniatures are as follows: The Three Wise Men and the Flight into Egypt.
