Saint Jean Perse’s abstract epic, in a fine morocco inlay binding by Paul Bonet. Perse, also known as Saint-Leger Leger, composed this poem the same year he won the Nobel Prize for literature. This is no. 7 of 21 copies on Japon, part an edition of 186.

Folio (380 x 273mm). Dark purple morocco with abstract blue, orange, teal, red, and burgundy inlay design and gilt patterned background; red suede doublures, dark purple morocco chemise with speckled purple pattern with matching slipcase, by Paul Bonet, dated 1965. Provenance: IR Delmas (bookplate).
