[NIMMO, R.H. (fl. 1826-1829), lithographer.] [Ten] Lithographic Coloured Flowers with Botanical Descriptions Drawn and Coloured by a Lady. Edinburgh: David Brown; printed on stone by R.H. Nimmo, 1826-32.

Rare botanical work, originally issued in four parts to 112 subscribers, each with ten plates and accompanying text. It is not certain whether each part was issued with individual title pages. Although the original artist remains unknown, the plates were printed by R.H. Nimmo, an Edinburgh engraver and lithographer whose work also included birds and animals, portraits, and topography. He exhibited several times throughout his career at the Royal Scottish Academy. Dunthorne 19; Great Flower Booksp.70.

Four parts in one volume, folio (363 x 262mm). Title with vignette illustration, introductory leaf, letterpress list of subscribers at end, and 40 hand-colored lithographic plates, each with tissue leaf and facing leaf of explanatory text, all lithographed by Nimmo (occasional light spotting and tissue burn). Early 20th-century green morocco, spine gilt (spine and edges of boards sunned, stains on upper edges and corners).
