The lavish festival book depicting the return of Louis XIV and his bride Marie Thérèse of Spain to Paris, where they were greeted with great pomp and circumstance. Pérlement commissioned the festival and the work is arranged in four parts: the reception at Vincennes; the triumphal arches; the solemn procession; and the concluding ceremonies with fireworks display.
