Autograph correspondence card signed ('A. Einstein') to Wilhelm Wien, Prague, 20 March [postmarked 1912].

In German. 1½ pages, 140 x 91mm. Provenance: by descent from Wilhelm Wien.

Submitting a paper on gravity for the Annalen der Physik. Einstein sends for publication in the Annalen der Phsyik 'the continuation of the researches on the static gravitational field. I have toiled dreadfully with this thing, but believe I have now found the true point of it. I have not yet overcome the case of the dynamic problem. I shall only deal with it if it is possible to do so with a minimum of arbritrariness'.

The paper in question is Einstein's 'On the theory of the static gravitational field', published in Annalen der Physik 38 in May 1912. Published in Martin J. Klein, A.J. Kox and Robert Schulmann (eds), Collected Papers, vol. 5, no. 375.
