Size Medium. Made by Alpha Industries, with two mission patches reading ‘PROF. S HAWKING’ and ‘CURIOSITYSTREAM/BIGGER BANG’ on each arm and a Union Jack shoulder patch on the right-hand side. Black nylon with a blue inner shell. Provenance: the estate of the late Professor Stephen Hawking.

Stephen Hawking's own bomber jacket. In 2016, Stephen Hawking filmed a documentary for the video-on-demand streaming service CuriosityStream, in conjunction with the production company Bigger Bang, entitled Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places: viewers watched Hawking – clad in this bomber jacket – navigate the computer-generated SS Hawking through the vastness of the universe to visit some of his favourite places, from Saturn to Santa Barbara. The series won an Emmy Award in 2017 for Outstanding Graphic Design & Art Direction.
