About the Auction

For Christie’s first online wine sale of 2015, we pay tribute to the very first sale held by James Christie back in 1766. This March we are proud to offer “a large Quantity of Madeira and high Flavour’d Claret.” On offer is over 90 lots of Fine Madeira from the very best shippers including Barbeito, Blandy’s, d’Oliveras, Henriques & Henriques.

Also on offer is an extensive selection of Bordeaux for the new or seasoned collector from the 1970s through 2000s from benchmark producers like Cos d’Estournel, Léoville Las Cases, and Trotanoy. Other highlights include Screaming Eagle and Second Flight in original wooden cases, Tuscan favorites Solaia, Sassicaia and Ornellaia, and rarities from Burgundy including Rousseau, Perrot-Minot and d’Angerville.
