MORE ABOUT THIS WINE
Far Niente was founded in 1885 by a gold-rush forty-niner, John Benson, whose nephew, Winslow Homer, designed the winery’s first label for its 1886 Sweet Muscat. The winery flourished until prohibition in 1919 when it was abandoned for sixty years until Beth and Gil Nickel reinvigorated the estate and tapped into the land’s potential.
