NOTICE FOR ENTITY BIDDERS
If any individual is bidding on behalf of an entity, the tick box must be checked and the entity’s name will need to be entered as part of the registration process. Christie’s may require that the entity provide certain documents or meet certain qualifications in order to bid.
If you registered as an entity bidder, your entity will need to pay for any purchases via a credit card issued to the entity account and not a personal account.
Company buyers claiming exemption from sales tax must indicate this by ticking the Sales Tax Exemption box at the time of registration and have the appropriate documentation on file with Christie's prior to check-out to avoid being charged. Please contact Client Services at 212-636-2002 or firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm valid documentation.
CHRISTIE’S INTEREST IN PROPERTY CONSIGNED FOR AUCTION
Where Christie’s has a direct financial interest in lots consigned for sale, which may include guaranteeing a minimum price or making an advance to the consignor that is secured solely by consigned property, the lot description for such lot will include language indicating such interest. The language will apply both in cases where Christie’s holds the financial interest on its own, and in cases where Christie’s has financed all or part of such interest through third parties.
PROPERTY INCORPORATING MATERIALS FROM ENDANGERED AND OTHER PROTECTED SPECIES
Property made of or incorporating (irrespective of percentage) endangered and other protected species of wildlife are marked with the symbol ~ in the lot description (or are identified in the lot description with language indicating as such). It is the client’s responsibility to determine and satisfy the requirements of any applicable laws or regulations applying to the export or import of property containing endangered and other protected wildlife material. The inability of a client to export or import property containing endangered and other protected wildlife material is not a basis for cancellation or rescission of the sale. Lots containing potentially regulated wildlife material are marked as a convenience to our clients, but Christie’s does not accept liability for errors or for failing to mark lots containing protected or regulated species.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES DETAILS
Additional charges, including buyer’s premium, value added, sales or compensating use tax or equivalent tax, any and all shipping expenses, including costs, packing and handling, any loss damage liability fees, and all other applicable charges will apply. In addition to the hammer price (final bid price) of each lot, the winning bidder will be responsible for a buyer's premium for each lot of wine sold. The buyer’s premium is equal to 22.5% (twenty-two and one-half percent) of the hammer price of each lot. New York Sales tax or valued added tax, sales or compensating use tax of any applicable jurisdiction will be collected before the lot can be released. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ascertain and pay all taxes due. For international buyers, the terms of sale are Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) and duty and sales tax will be the sole responsibility of the buyer to be paid prior to shipment and/or delivery.
The winning bidder will also be responsible for any and all shipping or delivery expenses, including costs of packing, handling and loss damage liability. Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits/Christie’s will arrange for its NY warehouse partner, The Wine Cellarage, to provide loss damage liability for purchased lots when arrangements are made for such lots to be shipped to the winner bidder.
The Wine Cellarage will charge 1% of the purchase price, except that there will be no charge for Manhattan deliveries paid in full by the payment deadline, and such charge will cover only loss, theft, damage or breakage, and not any other changes to the wines during shipment. There is an additional charge (except for delivery in some areas of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts) for shipping the original wooden cases.
ULLAGES AND CORKS OF OLD WINE
Each lot is described in the lot description as correctly as can be ascertained but buyers of old wines must make appropriate allowances for natural variations of ullages, conditions of cases, labels, corks and wine. No returns will be accepted.
COLLECTION AND DELIVERY
Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits/Christie’s does not provide interstate or foreign shipping services. It is the buyer’s responsibility to collect purchases or make all shipping arrangements. After payment has been made in full, the winning bidder can arrange for collection of the wine or The Wine Cellarage can facilitate the packing of and delivery or shipping arrangements for any purchased lots and subject to any state laws and the laws of other countries.
All wines are held at Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits/Christie’s facility at The Wine Cellarage in New York. Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits/Christie’s will store those purchased wines that are paid for in full by the payment deadline free of charge until either the relevant deadline for shipment, collection or delivery described below, at which time purchases will be either shipped, collected or delivered at the winning bidder’s expense and instructions provided at time of payment. Winning bidders who wish to have their wines shipped either domestically or internationally must indicate that at the time of check-out by providing a valid shipping address. If such shipments can be facilitated, purchases will be shipped to the address you provide at check-out. Purchases cannot be delivered to P.O. boxes. Winning bidders who request delivery in Manhattan qualify for free delivery, if, and only if, they pay all charges due by the payment deadline. Winning bidders who wish to arrange for collection of their purchases must indicate that at the time of check-out by checking the appropriate box. Collection can take place Monday – Friday during between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST by appointment. Please note that collection appointments must be made 24 hours in advance and no collections are permitted during the weekend or after business hours. Please contact Christie’s Client Services at email@example.com or 212-636-2002 to schedule your collection.
Wines may only be sold and delivered to or collected by persons over the age of 21.
LIMITATION ON SHIPMENT
The shipment and importation of wine is subject to limitations and restrictions imposed by various states and countries. Various jurisdictions – both within and outside the United States – may prohibit the importation or limit the quantity of wine that may be shipped into other jurisdictions. It is the sole responsibility of the buyer to determine before bidding at auction whether wines can be shipped into any state or jurisdiction or be legally exported from the U.S. or imported into any foreign country and the legal obligation or responsibility to obtain any required permits or license on behalf of the buyer prior to shipment. It is the buyer’s responsibility to abide by any customs regulations and required declarations for international shipments.
