GB's 100th first class century was achieved on 11th August 1977, against Australia at Leeds. He was the 18th player to complete his 100th hundred and the only player to do so in a Test match. He calls it "my finest century for many reasons. I may have played better and more importantly but this was the most magical moment of my life... I was conscious that I was sharing something important with the people of Yorkshire" (Autobiography, p.181).
