Made by Slazenger, short handle, with pen inscription to the reverse 'Used by me during 1977 and 1978 season - including tests Geoff Boycott 5/5/78' (signed), and with the team signatures of 'YORKSHIRE' and 'NEW ZEALAND', the face with the team signatures of 'ENGLAND 1978'

Lot Essay

This bat was used in the Test Match versus New Zealand at Christchurch in 1978, when Sir Ian Botham controversially ran out GB, the England captain, for scoring too slowly.

Signatures of both teams on the bat include Boycott, Randall, Botham, Willis, Burgess, Hadlee.
