GB contributed a match-saving 106 in the second innings of this match, as England drew the second Test against the West Indies at Lord’s in 1969. Ray Illingworth became ‘batsman of the match’, making a first innings 113 before being caught and bowled by Lance Gibbs; it was his first Test century. John Hampshire also scored 107 in the first innings, however a quickfire 70 from Sir Clive Lloyd had England under pressure on the final day of an epic Test Match. England secured the draw but finished their second innings just 37 runs short of victory on 295-7.
