Details
This sharp specimen is a dramatic example of geometry in nature, with a centered apophyllite crystal rising like a glass sculpture from surrounding nest of pastel pink stilbite crystals. This is an old specimen from Indian discoveries of the 1990s. It is a classic specimen in that this is generally common material: but it is a superlative example for the size with top-quality sharpness and transparency any collector would want. Clearly, a choice specimen to have found its way to renowned gem and mineral collector (and first president of Apple Computers) Mike Scott's home and collection; and one can imagine that it was the simple and cleanly perfected lines of the geometry which he pursued rather than chase a specimen that might be bigger and much more expensive. With a custom lucite display base.
3 x 6.2 x 5.5 cm. (3.6 x 2.4 x 2.1 in.) and 272 g.
