The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Not examined out of frames if framed. Condition varies. The paintings overall very good with minor areas of abrasion or accretion and occasional discoloration or tiny foxmarks. No. 1 with a little varnish stain, no. 2 with more abrading in black areas at corners, no. 3 with surface marks and creasing to the upper 1/4 of work, with possible repaired tears and scattered touch-ups including a diagonal one near the upper right corner. The Collier’s drawings overall good with expected moderate creasing and pin-holes, occasional toning, scattered losses primarily along edges with larger chips to about five drawings. The photostats with some staining, mostly along top edges. The von Braun drawings overall very good condition but yellowed and creased. The Freeman photograph expertly restored after water-damage.
