The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall fairly good country house condition. With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use. The reverse with wooden bracket to section of cresting, and the underside with old metal brackets for securing. Overall with shrinkage cracks and splits, which have been restored historically, most noticable to the arms, the left hand scroll to back and through the plume-of-feathers cresting. The planked seat with horizontal shrinkage crack. Spliced repair to back right edge and foot. Splice to left hand foot. Some losses to carving. The decoration scratched and worn overall, now with more of a washed appearance. Evidence of historic, but apparently inactive woodworm. Otherwise structurally secure and highly decorative.
