Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008) was a world renowned French couturier who, in 1961 founded the fashion powerhouse, Yves Saint Laurent YSL that would become today’s luxury leader: Saint Laurent. Admired for his propensity to break the mould and push sartorial boundaries, Yves is often hailed as an icon of the twentieth century fashion design. The collection of Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Berge was was sold at Christie's, Paris in 2009 for €373,935,500, then the highest grossing collection sale on record.
