The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In fairly good condition overall.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The gilding in overall good condition, rubbed overall with some tarnishing and dirt and dust to the crevices.
Losses to the definition of the gilt-composition overall, and some flaked losses.
The leaf scrolls to each side with the two branches with losses to the gilt-composition, and bare wire reinforcements showing.
The bottom edge with losses, chipping and flaking to the gilt-composition from position on a chimneypiece or table, this area would benefit from regilding.
The plates with minor foxing and loss of silvering, paritcularly to the top plate which has some scattered areas of oxidisation.
Otherwise structurally secure and ready to hang.
As stated fitted for electricity. The electrical components appear to be complete but must be reconditioned prior to use, regardless of whether the lot is shown lit or in working condition in the catalogue. We strongly advise that the item is reconditioned by an appropriately qualified electrician prior to any intended use.
