Lot Essay

This beautiful portrait depicts Lloyd, who is believed to have worked at Leamington Pavillion, the villa in Barbados that Oliver rented before purchasing Maddox. The University of Bristol Theatre Collection holds a folder of photographs of Lloyd (see OHM/3/5/140/19).
