The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- The single-case inro with rubbing to the gilt, losses to the mother-of-pearl inlays and some cracks and scratches.
- The inro with parasols with small chips to the sides, losses to the mother-of-pearl inlays, a small chip to one of the compartments and general surface wear.
- The inro with karako with some small losses to the mother-of-pearl inlays, faded nashiji interiors and risers and general surface wear. Some lacquer restorations.
- The inro with bird and flowers with small chips to the sides, some scratches and wear to the lacquer and some small losses to the mother-of-pearl inlays.
- The inro travellers with losses to the mother-of-pearl inlays, chips and losses to the sides and along the rims of the compartments. Surface wear and scratches.
