The famille rose group comprises: a large basin decorated in bright enamels with a scholar, lady and her attendant in a garden with rocks and prunus blossom, the flattened rim with cartouches enclosing crustaceans in reserve on a geometric ground with lotus, peony and chrysanthemum; a large charger decorated with two ladies at leisure in a garden with deer and a bird, the rims with cartouches enclosing prunus blossom in reserve on a dense floral ground; a slightly smaller charger decorated with a gentleman in a fur-lined winter coat with his dog and attendant; and a kakiemon-style large dish later enamelled in Europe with a design of quail and millet.
The largest: 17¼ in. (43.8 cm.) diam.

Collection of the late Soame Jenyns (1904-1976), then by descent within the family.
