Of typical form with five-tiered stacking food boxes, sake flask with box beneath, small tray with indented corners and ten rectangular food trays; all contained within a lacquer carrying-case with copper handle; the set decorated overall in various lacquer techniques including gold, red and black hiramaki-e and inlays of mother-of-pearl with birds amongst branches of blossoming plum, pine and bamboo against a red lacquer ground, the edges with karakusa in gold hiramaki-e against black lacquer
