The group comprises: two square trays with canted corners, the first decorated to the centre with a horse, scholars and ladies gathered in a garden by a pavilion, standing beneath a tree that overhangs a river, the cavetto embellished with shaped landscape cartouches; the second tray decorated with a gathering of two ladies, a scholar and his attendant resting beneath a wutong tree and picked out in gold tones, the cavetto inlaid with an intricate design of flowers on a dense leafy scrolling ground; and a circular tray with a scholar in a pavilion with his servants in attendance, addressing two ladies in a fenced garden setting.
