The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its manufacture.
- Both vases have scratches, surface wear and light fritting in keeping with their age.
- Both covers have old, indistinct black writing to the underside of the rim reading "VL/V4/4 pr"
The larger vase and cover:
- The vase has a star hairline crack to the rim, the longest arm of which extends max approx. 18 cm. long with tiny associated glaze flakes
- There are some very fine star cracks to the interior.
- The vase and cover are 17½ in. (44.5 cm.) high overall
The smaller vase and cover:
- The vase has two triangular sections to the mouth rim that have been re-stuck, measuring max approx. 7 cm x 3 cm overall, together with associated small losses.
- The cover has a chip to the underside of the rim measuring max. approx. 1½ cm. x 1 cm.
- The vase and cover 17⅛ in. (43.5 cm.) high overall
