We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its manufacture. - Both vases have scratches, surface wear and light fritting in keeping with their age. - Both covers have old, indistinct black writing to the underside of the rim reading "VL/V4/4 pr"
The larger vase and cover: - The vase has a star hairline crack to the rim, the longest arm of which extends max approx. 18 cm. long with tiny associated glaze flakes - There are some very fine star cracks to the interior. - The vase and cover are 17½ in. (44.5 cm.) high overall
The smaller vase and cover: - The vase has two triangular sections to the mouth rim that have been re-stuck, measuring max approx. 7 cm x 3 cm overall, together with associated small losses. - The cover has a chip to the underside of the rim measuring max. approx. 1½ cm. x 1 cm. - The vase and cover 17⅛ in. (43.5 cm.) high overall
