"In the early 1960s, Reddy devoted a series of works to water, a continuation of his enduring interest in evolving forms in nature. As a part of this exploration of fluidity - which included ":River "(1960) and "Whirlpool" (1963), among others - this print conveys the immense energy of a crashing wave. The textural effects of its surface derive not only from how Reddy incised his plate but also from how he inked it.
