The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- with 20-25 mm. margins on three sides, a 7 mm. margin above, with an added strip of wove paper to even out the upper margin, and sheet corners; the added strip slightly darker in tone, with remains of old adhesive at the joint in the upper margin.
- the sheet backed with simili-Japan paper, with some remains of adhesive at the sheet edges in places.
- with a hard, vertical printer's crease in the lower half of the sheet at centre, partially un-inked and broken in the lower margin, backed.
- another, shorter horizontal crease (slightly irregular) at centre left, mainly visible in raking light.
- a diagonal, forked surface abrasion at upper centre, mainly visible in raking light (approx. 35 mm.).
- some pinholes, small losses and other defects in the margins and at the sheet edges.
- some pale mount staining and occasional foxmarks in the margins.
- inscribed PX in pencil in the lower margin.
