The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- probably the full sheet, the dimensions nearly identical to those called for by Hofmaier.
- titled in pencil in the lower right sheet corner.
- mount- and light-staining over and around the image and into the margins, including the signature.
- a few unobtrusive, scattered pinpoint foxmarks, mainly visible in the margins and verso.
- a small area of minor surface dirt at the right sheet edge, another at the upper left sheet corner.
- a short tear (circa 7 mm.) at the upper sheet edge near the right corner.
- very minor time staining along the extreme sheet edges.
- inscribed at the upper right sheet corner verso in pencil NS no WK (AH) (partially covered by a paper hinge).
- remains of old paper hinges at the upper sheet edges.
- backboard staining verso with pale discolouration at the sheet corners.
Otherwise as described. The subject in good condition.
