The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- with wide margins and possibly the full sheet (but smaller than the dimensions called for by Hofmaier), with a deckle edge at left and below.
- with some light-staining, the pale pink paper tone slightly faded within the mount window.
- a repaired tear (circa 35 mm.) at the lower sheet edge near the right corner.
- some very minor spots and paper inclusions.
- the sheet a little cockled towards the sheet edges, inherent to this type of paper.
- inscribed in pencil recto by another hand with the Gallwitz number 195a and titled and dated.
- inscribed in pencil with the numbers 140 and 145 in ovals verso.
Otherwise as described and in good condition.
