The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet, with a deckle edge at left.
- the sheet slightly toned, with uneven pale light-staining, very pale backboard staining verso.
- a few scratches and nicks, both in the subject and in the margins.
- a few pale tiny foxmarks and minor pale brown stains in places.
- a few tiny thin spots in the subject in places.
- some surface dirt in the margins in places.
- inscribed with Petiet's number in the lower left sheet corner recto, and the Vollard's suite number in the opposite corner.
- remains of white paper tape at the upper corners verso.
Otherwise as described and generally in good condition.
