The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet, with deckle edges at left, right and above.
- the sheet slightly toned, with pale mount staining and time staining at the sheet edges.
- two pinholes in the lower margin at centre and to the right.
- a few pinpoint foxmarks in the subject and margins, a tiny pale stain above the dagger.
- a short surface scratch in the right margin at centre (approx. 8 mm.).
- minor surface abrasions in the upper sheet corners, visible in raking light recto.
- remains of paper tape at the upper corners and sheet edge at centre verso.
- a few pencil inscriptions verso.
Otherwise as described and generally in good condition.
