Lot Essay

This beautiful lavender trouser suit was made in 1971 by Tommy Nutter, the Saville Row tailor. Tommy changed the face of Saville Row, making his showroom the go to tailor for the rich and famous. He was also a dear friend of mine. During the 1970’s, Tommy made me many suits in various colours and fabrics. The ‘masculine’ style, three piece suit became a signature look for me. I think a beautifully tailored trouser suit is always elegant, fashionable and chic. I wore a cream version on the cover of my first album ‘Twiggy’. Sadly I don’t have that one anymore, but I am very happy to donate this gorgeous lavender suit for this very worthy cause. I hope you get great pleasure out of this fabulous item. Wear it well. - Twiggy x
